For many Inter Milan players, tonight’s game against Feyenoord will be another day in the office, but not for Stefan de Vrij.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, it will be a ‘special occasion’ for the 33-year-old center-back.
Stefan de Vrij captained De Stadionclub in the early stages of his career.
Indeed, he came through Feyenoord’s academy before making his senior debut in 2009.
He would establish himself as a permanent first-team fixture in the next five years and earn the armband.
It’s been over a decade since De Vrij waved goodbye to De Kuip.
However, emotions are still overwhelming.

And it’s impossible to be otherwise after he made 154 appearances for Feyenoord in all competitions.
But the seasoned professional he is, De Vrij must not let his feelings stay in the way of the greater good.
Indeed, the Dutch defender must hold up his end of the bargain to help Inter navigate this potentially tricky tie.
Despite his undeniable love for his boyhood club, De Vrij will be one of Simone Inzaghi’s most trusted allies tonight.
