Denzel Dumfries delivered his verdict on Inter Milan’s impressive 2-0 win against Feyenoord in tonight’s Champions League clash.
Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, the Dutch wingback hailed the team’s performance in Rotterdam.
Though the game was far from straightforward, Inter maintained their scintillating continental form.
Indeed, Marcus Thuram scored late in the first half to propel the Nerazzurri 1-0 up.
Then, Lautaro Martinez inflicted more damage on Feyenoord five minutes from the break.
As a result, El Toro reached an unprecedented feat in the club’s Champions League history.
He left the legendary Sandro Mazzola one goal behind to become Inter’s best goalscorer in the competition with 18.
Meanwhile, Dumfries failed to get on the board. However, his performance was electrifying again.
Although Inter sometimes lacked his trademark runs down the wing, he fared outstandingly at the back.
He started by praising the team’s overall showing.
“I think it was a great match from us, very solid,” Dumfries claimed. “We played well, and it was an excellent win.”

Then, he singled out the moment that shifted momentum to Inter’s favor.
“After Thuram’s great goal, we gained confidence; taking the lead definitely helped us.
“This stadium is beautiful, the fans were energized, it’s always very nice to play here.”
Finally, the Dutchman urged Inter to stay focused ahead of Saturday’s home clash against Monza.
Nailed to the bottom of the Serie A standings, Monza shouldn’t threaten Inter’s title ambitions.
However, the 28-year-old prefers a cautious approach.
“Now, we focus on Monza, it’s very important for our Serie A journey,” Dumfries concluded.
After last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Napoli, only one point separates the leading duo.
Therefore, Inter must not take Monza lightly, even though they’ll enter the game as massive favorites.
