Sky: Milan defender Emerson Royal has verbal agreement with Real Betis | OneFootball

Sky Sport Italia confirms that Milan defender Emerson Royal has reached a verbal agreement with his former club Real Betis.

Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal could return to Real Betis this summer, as the former Tottenham defender has an agreement in principle with the Spanish club.

The news was broken by El Chiringuito in Spain and confirmed by Sky Sport Italia on Thursday.

The Italian broadcasters claim that Milan are now in talks with Real Betis to determine whether to finalise a dry loan deal or a loan move with an option to buy.

Emerson Royal has already played for Real Betis from 2019 to 2021 before joining Barcelona in a €14m deal.

The 26-year-old moved to Milan last summer for €15m and is under contract at San Siro until 2028.

The Brazilian collected 26 appearances across all competitions with the Rossoneri in 2024-25, but a calf injury forced him to the sidelines in the second part of the season.
