After missing the past two games – or at least missing the starting spot at left-back – Theo Hernandez should return to the AC Milan starting lineup when they play AS Roma.

It has been a season of questions when it comes to Theo, though you could also extend this to Milan too. However, it makes sense why this would be the case.

In recent years, Theo has been the heartbeat of the Rossoneri, and his best has often seen the club at their best, it is a vice-versa relationship. Whilst this is as good as it is sometimes, it can also be quite worrying, and this season, it has shown.

With the Frenchman struggling to show his best, the same can be said for the Diavolo, and questions have been regularly asked of both. However, there has never been an ending of the relationship, in fact, there is a desire to extend the relationship from Gerry Cardinale.

There can be no doubt about the problems that the full-back has suffered from this season, and it seems that Fonseca believes he has overcome them. In today’s press conference, the head coach revealed that the left-back could be in line to start.

“We’ve had Theo train these days, he needs to recover physically. It’s true, I think he’s also aware that he can do much better. But honestly in these last two days, that we’ve worked together and talked, I’m really positive about Theo: let’s see how he goes. I’m mainly positive about these last two days”.

Now, according to Sky (via Milan News), it seems he will return to the starting eleven for the first time in two games. The two reportedly had a conversation this morning to ‘clarify things’ and it went well, meaning Theo should return.
