Roma boss Ivan Jurić opted to remain positive following his side’s 1-1 draw against last-placed Monza on Sunday.

Still struggling to find the back of the net—the Giallorossi finally found a breakthrough midway through the second half. However, they held their lead for less than ten minutes as the host equalised in the 70th minute, forcing Roma to settle for another disappointing result.

“Roma played a great match even if now everything seems negative,” Juric said in his post-match presser.

“In the first half we controlled the match on all fronts, in the second half we scored the goal but also missed other opportunities. Though, I must say that the team satisfied me in everything.”

He continued, “The result is not good, it’s a shame, and even more so when we look at the penalty. However, the level of ball management has been raised. We need to raise the level of anger and aggressivity, and desire to close out the opportunities we create.”

“The physical level has been raised but also in the approach to the match, Roma was beautiful and pleasant to watch. I am also very satisfied with the team’s physical condition.”

“However, we must grow and become more aggressive in some moments of the match. In a certain sense we must dare to become aggressive beasts, not only think about dominating.”

“If we play games like this we will go a long way. We can do beautiful things but we need to be more ruthless and tough in the decisive moments of the game.”
