Manchester United have reportedly entered the fray for Brentford forward Bryan Mbuemo who has been stealing the limelight this season.

After selling Ivan Tooney in the summer, the fans were left to wonder who would replace the England international’s goal contribution. Nevertheless, finding the back of the net hasn’t been an issue for the Bees at all this season, mainly thanks to the superb collaboration of Mbuemo and fellow African star Yoane Wissa.

Mbuemo in particular has been almost unstoppable down the right flank, utilizing his speed, technique and exquisite finishing touch to score 13 Premier League goals already, in addition to three assists.

Therefore, the Avallon native has been naturally linked with a host of top sides, including the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

But according to Fichajes.net, Man United have now emerged as another suitor in the race. The Spanish portal claims the Red Devils are willing to splash the cash for the Cameroon international who is valued at circa £42 million.

Brentford consider Mbuemo as a key element in Thomas Frank’s winning recipe, so they’re hoping to retain the winger’s services at least until the end of the season. Nevertheless, the source expects Man Utd to keep pushing in an attempt to land the in-form star before the end of the January transfer session.

The fallen Premier League giants are desperate for reinforcements as they currently find themselves 13th in the standings. Ruben Amorim has recently admitted that the club will be keeping an eye on market opportunities, but it remains to be seen if Mbuemo would be a plausible track at this stage of the season.

In the meantime, the Red Devils will have to sort out the futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee amidst major transfer speculations.
