AC Milan and Inter could lock horns outside the football pitch as they both harbor interest in Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old could spark an off-field Derby della Madonnina rivalry next summer.
Needless to say, much will depend on the future of Davide Frattesi.
Indeed, the 25-year-old is desperate to return to his boyhood club, Roma, already in January.
However, Claudio Ranieri’s men don’t have the financial capacity to match Inter’s €45 million asking price.
The Nerazzurri would reportedly settle for a fee in the region of €38m, but they won’t accept counterparts.
Therefore, Roma’s chances of signing Frattesi this winter look bleak.
Even if Frattesi doesn’t leave Giuseppe Meazza in the coming weeks, he’ll probably wave goodbye at the end of the season.
Only then would Inter establish contact with Torino to discuss Ricci’s potential move to Lombardy.
Frattesi’s exit would fill the club’s coffers, meaning the Nerazzurri will have enough ammunition to negotiate with Urbano Cairo.
Moreover, Inter could reportedly use Francesco Pio Esposito and Valentin Carboni to sweeten an agreement with Torino.
Meanwhile, Milan have identified the ex-Empoli playmaker as a top midfield target.
