Serie A side Roma are willing to pay €20m for Chelsea youngster Tyrique George as he looks to leave the club according to reports.

George is one of a number of players the Blues are looking to move on before the end of the transfer window, and he’s fallen down the pecking order.

The arrival of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens has seen George’s chance of minutes drop significantly, and he simply won’t get the game time he needs to develop at Chelsea.

Roma prepared to pay €20m for Tyrique George

George is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy, and along with Josh Acheampong was promoted to the first team squad last season.

The teenager made somewhat of a breakthrough towards the end of last season, and scored his first Premier League goal against Fulham, whilst he also scored at the Club World Cup.

George made 26 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season and was part of the squads which won the Conference League and Club World Cup.

However, the 19-year-old made it clear earlier this summer he wanted to leave the club, and there’s a number of teams interested.

It was reported RB Leipzig were preparing a formal bid for George, whilst there’s also interest from Italian side Roma.

Roma are believed to be in talks over a permanent move for George, and Sky Sport have reported the Serie A outfit are prepared to pay €20m for the winger.

The report adds Wednesday will be a crucial day in determining whether a deal is possible for George to move to the Italian capital.

George isn’t the only attacker Chelsea are looking to move on, with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson also falling into that category.

The Blues need to offload the duo in order to create space in the squad so they can try and complete the signings of Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.

Jackson is believed to be in talks with Bayern Munich, and also has interest from the Premier League, whilst Nkunku is attracting interest from clubs in England, Italy and Germany.
