Rodrygo’s prospects at Real Madrid are now uncertain, especially with the news of Kylian Mbappe’s impending move to the Spanish capital at the end of the season.

Despite previous statements emphasizing Rodrygo’s importance to Madrid’s and Carlo Ancelotti’s strategies, doubts linger about whether he will receive sufficient playing time next season.

At the moment, Rodrygo has no intentions of departing from Real Madrid. He’s committed to the club until 2028, however, the situation might change if he starts to feel sidelined and is not getting regular playtime.

As such, we have reported before that as many as four Premier League teams are keeping a tab on his situation and a report from Mundo Deportivo has affirmed that Liverpool happen to be one of them.

It is claimed that Liverpool have even made offers for the Brazilian and their highest bid for Rodrygo stands at €80 million, a figure that Real Madrid have turned down.

Liverpool want him as Salah’s replacement

According to sources in England, Liverpool are reportedly making a strong push to sign Rodrygo as they anticipate Mohamed Salah’s departure from the club this summer.

Salah, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2025, is said to be eyeing an exit and he has already received tempting offers from Saudi Arabia.

As of today, it is expected that similar offers will come his way again this summer, potentially leading to his departure from the Premier League.

This is why Liverpool have identified Rodrygo as the ideal candidate to fill the Egyptian’s shoes.

But there is a problem

Despite the interest, there is a block in Liverpool’s plans. It is said that Real Madrid would likely demand a hefty fee ranging between €100 and €120 million for the Brazilian winger if they do decide to sell him.

Liverpool, as reported, are hesitant to meet this asking price and reports suggest that while the Reds have made offers to Real Madrid for Rodrygo, these offers have fallen short of the Spanish club’s valuation.

Whether the Reds return with improved offers for the Brazilian remains to be seen.
