Moroccan prodigy Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim, known as "Yusi", has just announced his departure from Real Madrid. He shared his farewell message on Instagram.

Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim was once tipped as the future defensive stalwart of Real Madrid's first team. Frequently included with the senior squad and already called up to Morocco's senior national team, the young defender never truly got his chance. This Wednesday, just hours after Álvaro Carreras was signed to play his position, the Moroccan decided to walk away from the club.

He announced his exit on social media: "Today, I have to write a few words I never thought I would have to write. After so many years, the time has come to close an unforgettable chapter in my life. I bid farewell to the club that has been my home. I want to express my deepest gratitude for these years spent at the club, to all the management and technical staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to wear this shirt. Thank you to my teammates, with whom I have shared the dressing room, joys, sacrifices, and unforgettable moments. To the club employees, and to all the fans, thank you. Defending this badge has been a privilege I will carry in my soul for life. I will always be one of you."

Just moments after his departure, Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim signed with Deportivo Alavés.
