Official: Real Madrid talisman undergoes shoulder surgery; out for 10-12 weeks | OneFootball

Real Madrid have issued an official statement confirming that key midfielder Jude Bellingham has undergone shoulder surgery.

“Our player Jude Bellingham has successfully undergone surgery for a recurrent dislocation of his left shoulder,” the statement read.

“The operation was performed by Drs. Manuel Leyes and Andrew Wallace, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Bellingham now begins a period of rehabilitation prior to his return to recovery work.”

Bellingham had been dealing with the shoulder problem since late 2023, but had put off surgery due to club and national team commitments.

However, the midfielder had confirmed that he would finally get operated after the FIFA Club World Cup, and he has done so now, with the operation understood to have taken place in London.

As reported by journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Bellingham will be out of action for a period of 10-12 weeks, meaning Xabi Alonso will be unable to count on his ace midfielder for nearly three months.

The aim is for the England international to make his comeback in mid-October, meaning he would be missing the first two months of the 2025/26 season – a major blow for Real Madrid considering his importance in the team.
