“Our club thanks him for his work, commitment, and dedication during his time at Real Madrid, and wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.”

Alvaro joined the Real Madrid youth academy in 2020, arriving at the age of 16. Having risen through the ranks, he became a key player for Castilla before making his first-team breakthrough during the 2022/23 season.

The Uruguayan striker made ten senior appearances for Los Blancos, in which he managed to score and assist one goal apiece.

Rodriguez spent the last season away on loan at Getafe, featuring 26 times in all competitions.

Having been back at Real Madrid, the 21-year-old had expressed his desire to move on this summer given that a spot in the first-team squad was unavailable.

As such, Rodriguez has now signed for Elche, back in La Liga after earning promotion. It had been initially speculated that the striker would be leaving on loan with a buy option, but he has left the club on a permanent transfer.
