According to an update shared by Mundo Deportivo, it has been learned that Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos could be on the move this summer, with clubs from Italy and England being linked to the Spaniard.

Interestingly, the outlet mentions that while the rumours are growing, no formal offers have yet been received by Real Madrid of of today.

It is to be noted that Ceballos has long been linked with an exit, with a return to Real Betis thought to be the most likely move. However, no deal has ever materialised despite repeated interest in past windows.

The same story is playing out again, with Betis showing interest but struggling to meet Real Madrid’s valuation.

Los Blancos are reportedly demanding between €15-20 million, while Betis are only willing to offer around €5 million, a gap that makes a deal highly unlikely at this stage.

No place in the current setup

One of the main reasons Ceballos is being pushed towards the exit door is that he does not feature in new manager Xabi Alonso’s plans.

Since taking over from Carlo Ancelotti, Alonso has not relied on the 28-year-old, barely using him during the FIFA Club World Cup.

Even with Luka Modric’s departure, Ceballos finds himself behind a long list of midfielders in the pecking order.

Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, and even Arda Guler, now viewed more as a midfielder, are all ahead of him.

With game-time looking scarce and interest growing from abroad, a summer move appears to be the most realistic option for Ceballos.

While no concrete bids have been made, the expectation is that interest from Serie A and the Premier League could soon turn into formal offers.

For now, no names have been put forward, but as reported before, Juventus happen to one of the clubs outside of Spain who have expressed interest in Ceballos. However, even the Turin-based team has not come up with an offer.
