Romelu Lukaku is currently playing for the third Serie A side of his career and as he mounts a title challenge with Napoli, he has spoken about multiple things regarding his career.

The Belgian spoke to Corriere dello Sport about his move to Naples and he revealed that during the last few days of his time at Chelsea, he was made to change in the youth dressing rooms.

He said, as relayed by FCInterNews: “The first time I wasn’t alone, Aubameyang and Ziyech were also outside of the Chelsea project. They made us change in the youth dressing room. We waited for weeks, giving up numerous options. Last summer I knew I would come to Napoli.”

Speaking of how the negotiations between Chelsea and Napoli took off, the striker said:

“This is business. The club says I don’t want you anymore and decides when and often where you will end up. But if you want to leave, and for serious reasons, you don’t have the chance to do so. They take you to the last minute, they wear you out.

“The clubs have relationships with the press and it doesn’t take much to put the player in difficulty, to convey the wrong image. Believe me, I’ve seen things I never thought I’d see. One day I’d like to clarify all these aspects to the younger ones, explaining who works for them and who works against them.”

The forward was also asked about his relationship with Inter and he revealed that he doesn’t hate the Nerazzurri.

“I have never hated Inter, never. If anyone spoke, especially in that period, that someone wasn’t me.”

The ex-Chelsea man also stated that he is fitter now than he was during his time at Inter.

“I’m better now than I was then. At Inter I was one hundred and one kilos, here in Naples ninety-nine. But my ideal weight is one hundred and two. Ninety-nine, and I don’t know why.”

The 31-year-old has nine Serie A goals this season and has also racked up seven assists. Despite that, Napoli are second in the table and they have to turn their poor recent form around quickly.
