Alex Jimenez is putting together a solid campaign, as, despite spotty minutes, he’s been convincing in multiple roles since joining Milan, and he was instrumental in the choral action that led to the late game-winner against Hellas Verona. He’s de facto their deputy right-back after January. The Rossoneri loaned out Davide Calabria to Bologna, and Emerson Royal will miss a couple of months.

According to Calciomercato, the brass is satisfied with the performances of the youngster and will talk to Real Madrid to keep ahold of him. They wish to eliminate the buyback clauses in favor of Los Blancos.

Milan acquired Jimenez for €5M last year after an initial loan spell. However, the La Liga giants will be able to recall him by paying €9M in 2025 or €12M in 2026. The Rossoneri will at least attempt to push things down the line and raise the sums, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The 19-year-old has amassed 17 appearances with the first team and as many with the Futuro squad since transferring to Italy. He also featured a bunch of times with the Primavera and in the Youth League. The versatile fullback played seven times with Real Madrid Castilla before heading to Italy. He has two caps with Spain U-19.

Our Take on Milan and Jimenez

It’s a no-brainer, as any team can use somebody with his energy and tactical flexibility. He has basically become a younger, cheaper, and more defensive-minded version of Alexis Saelemaekers in just a few months. On the other hand, it’s a tricky situation, and they might have to shell out a decent sum to achieve their goal.
