Mercato: Ismaël Bennacer set to leave AC Milan

The future of Ismaël Bennacer is set to unfold far from AC Milan. The Algerian midfielder is on his way out this summer.

According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, Beşiktaş has already shown concrete interest in signing him. The Turkish club, along with a Russian side, has made inquiries about the player. Although a move to Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia) was considered, the deal fell through: Bennacer prefers an ambitious sporting project in Europe.

Loaned out last season to Olympique de Marseille, he made a strong impression there. The Marseille club is still keeping a close eye on his situation. Signed by Milan in 2019 for around 16 million euros, Bennacer has impressed with his vision and work rate. However, injuries and stiff competition have hampered him in recent seasons.

The Milan board would not oppose his departure, aiming to rebalance the squad. As for Bennacer, he wants to bounce back and rediscover his best form. The situation remains open. Besiktas hopes to make their move.
