The Chelsea hierarchy rate Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha “extremely highly” according to journalist Matt Law.

The Blues have been busy this summer revamping their attack and have made three signings in Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro.

Chelsea are currently working on a deal for Xavi Simons, with negotiations thought to be at an advanced stage, whilst they are expected to move for Alejandro Garnacho before the end of the window.

The Blues are said to want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between next season, as they prepare to return to the Champions League.

Any further additions on top of proposed deals for Simons and Garnacho are likely to hinge on whether Nicolas Jackson leaves the club.

Jackson has interest from both the Premier League and abroad, with Chelsea said to value the 24-year-old at between £80-£100m.

However, the Blues are always on the lookout for future talents, and have been previously linked with Emegha, who scored 14 goals for Strasbourg last season.

Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Emegha, and Law has now provided an update on the interest.

“I know the Chelsea hierarchy rate Emmanuel Emegha extremely highly,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.

“When a few Premier League clubs were linked with him last season, I was told by someone who works around Strasbourg that they believe one day this guy could be a £50m plus striker.

Nicolas Jackson future uncertain

Any deal for Emegha would likely be a pre-agreement for the Dutch under-21 international to join in 2026, but whether Jackson will still be at Stamford Bridge at that point remains to be seen.

Jackson has been linked with Manchester United, Aston Villa and Newcastle, with the Magpies said to value the Senegal international at around £65m.

No official offers have come in for Jackson to date, but his situation is definitely one to keep an eye on for the remainder of the window.
