Man United make opening bid for Benjamin Sesko | OneFootball

Manchester United have submitted an offer for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, according to German outlet BILD.

United have tabled a bid worth €75 million plus an additional €10m in potential add-ons.

They reportedly held informal talks with the Bundesliga club earlier in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Newcastle United.

However, the Gunners have moved on after signing Viktor Gyokeres, leaving only Newcastle and Man United as active contenders.

Newcastle’s improved offer puts pressure on Man United

Newcastle initially submitted a €75m bid including €5m in add-ons for Sesko, but Leipzig swiftly rejected it.

That prompted them to return with an improved package of at least €80m. United have now stepped up their efforts with a bid of their own.

Sesko had an impressive season in Germany last term, bagging 21 goals and six assists across all competitions.

His growing reputation has made him one of the most sought-after young strikers this summer.

The Slovenian international stands out for his size, speed, and sharp finishing. He often gets behind defences with smart runs and is a real threat in the final third.

He is capable of holding up play, acting as a target man and involving his teammates in attacking moves.

While he is a strong figure inside the box and a natural goal threat, his passing and link-up play are still developing.

However, his blend of physical power and technique makes him an ideal fit for English football.
