Malick Fofana wants to join a Champions League club despite Everton interest | OneFootball

According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Lyon attacker Malick Fofana (20) is prioritising a move to a UEFA Champions League club ahead of interest from Everton. The Premier League club had entered into negotiations with OL on a potential deal worth €40m.

Everton’s first bid for Fofana was rejected. Les Gones received an offer in the region of €36m, including bonuses. The Rhône club are demanding a fixed initial fee of €40m before any additional add-ons and bonuses are negotiated. Despite the Merseyside outfit’s interest in his services, the 20-year-old is currently focused on a potential move to other clubs. These clubs are waiting to make room in their squads before making a move for the former Gent forward.

Playing in Europe’s premier continental competition is Fofana’s priority should he leave the Groupama Stadium this summer. The Belgian international attacker has already rejected the advances of Nottingham Forest since the transfer window opened. Bayern Munich and Liverpool are reportedly interested in the forward.
