According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Everton are in advanced negotiations with Lyon to sign Malick Fofana (20) this summer. The Premier League club have entered into direct contact with Les Gones over acquiring the services of the Belgian international.

Fofana is expected to leave OL during the summer transfer window. The Rhône club are forced to sell players this summer in line with the agreements made with the DNCG, which led to the reversal of their relegation to the second tier of French football. The 20-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Everton have now established contact with Fofana’s representatives in an attempt to agree personal terms with the Lyon winger. Les Gones had already agreed a fee with Nottingham Forest for the Belgian attacker, but the player rejected to opportunity to move to the City Ground. It remains to be seen whether the winger would be interested in joining the Toffees.
