There are several Liverpool stars currently looking over their shoulders as the transfer window approaches.
We could see bids accepted on plenty of Premier League champions - with head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes weighing up changes to the squad.
Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have been earmarked for the exit - with Liverpool preparing an upgrade in the No9 position.
There is uncertainty over the wingers too; the club are facing a contract conundrum over Luis Diaz - with his terms expiring in 2027 and no breakthrough yet reached over a new deal.
And one player who looks set to make way after only one season is Federico Chiesa. Signed for a fee that could reach £12.5 million, the Italian has played just one percent of the Premier League minutes available to him.
The 27-year-old has played only five times in the league - with zero starts. He has only started THREE games in all competitions - and two of those were defeats to PSV in the Champions League and Plymouth in the FA Cup.
Accordingly he has been extensively linked with a return to Serie A - although surprise contenders for his signature include Tottenham.
Liverpool might opt to swap Chiesa plus cash for the Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, who is reported to be seeking a return to the Premier League. Regardless of the destination, Chiesa’s fate now appears SEALED.
Lewis Steele writes in the Daily Mail that the former Juventus forward simply isn’t fancied by his head coach - describing the conclusion to this season as “the end of the road”.
Having racked up his fifth Premier League game of the season against Chelsea - sufficient for a winner’s medal - Chiesa was left out of the matchday squad for the weekend draw versus Arsenal.

“After a brief cameo away at Chelsea to take his appearances total to five in the Premier League – enough to qualify for a medal despite his minutes only adding up to 41 – the winger was nowhere to be seen in the next squad,” he wrote.
“That is rather damning and it feels like the end of the short road is near for Chiesa. It will be a shame if he does leave as he seems a well-liked figure and wears his heart on his sleeve but, judging from team selections, boss Slot just does not fancy him.”
If it’s not Atalanta, then Roma and AC Milan have both been linked with repatriating Chiesa. Liverpool could make their money back on the Euro 2020 winner but so far his wages of around £120k per week are proving a sticking point for Italian sides.
