Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg previously reported that Ekitiké is high on Liverpool’s list of attacking targets. However, the 23-year-old French striker understands that a move to Anfield would likely depend on the club offloading players first.

Arsenal are also among the clubs preparing to join the race, according to Bild. Ekitiké is coming off a standout season, with 22 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions. Frankfurt reportedly value him at around €100 million.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also shown interest. Still, with Arsenal missing out on RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, they are now expected to step up their efforts to sign Ekitiké.

GIVE ME SPORT reported on Thursday, citing sources, that Liverpool are preparing to open talks over a potential move for Ékitiké—though a deal will likely depend on the club offloading Darwin Núñez first.

According to intermediaries, Liverpool have made it clear to Eintracht Frankfurt that they’re ready to begin negotiations. That has given the Bundesliga side confidence they can land their £86 million asking price.

With several new signings already through the door this summer, Liverpool would need to move on from Núñez to make space for Ékitiké.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Hugo Ékitiké is still attracting interest from the Premier League, with Newcastle among the clubs showing strong interest in the striker.

Liverpool and Chelsea both made inquiries back in June, and other Premier League sides are keeping an eye on his situation. Ékitiké has also drawn recent interest from Saudi clubs Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah, but his focus remains on securing a move within Europe.
