La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Juventus are in contact with PSG over the signing of Manuel Ugarte who could move to Turin on loan next summer.

Juventus are looking for midfield reinforcement and may be forced to replace Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie at the end of the season.

The Frenchman’s contract expires in June, and McKennie has not reached an agreement to extend his stay beyond 2025.

According to Gazzetta, Uruguay international Ugarte is a target on the Bianconeri’s agenda, and club director Cristiano Giuntoli has already contacted the Ligue 1 giants.

Ugarte joined PSG from Sporting CP for €60m last summer but has struggled with playing time this season, making 23 appearances and three assists in Ligue 1.

Gazzetta claims it is unlikely that PSG will receive a similar offer from any club this summer, including Juventus, so a loan deal could suit all the parties involved. A temporary transfer would also allow Juventus to make a big investment in another central midfielder, such as Ten Koopmeiners, Lazar Samardzic, Martin Zubimendi or Mikel Merino.
