Juventus manager Max Allegri has a frosty relationship with the club’s sporting director Cristiano Guintoli and the details are now emerging, with the Italian’s job now in jeopardy.

Allegri seemed to have some harsh words for Guintoli after the win over Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final yesterday and Daniele Longo has revealed that the relationship between the two is actually quite poor.

It is stated that there have been periods in the season when they haven’t supported each other and have been on different wavelengths. The relationship was cold earlier and then became quite tense during the January transfer window. Allegri wanted an experienced midfielder after Nicolo Fagioli and Paul Pogba picked up suspensions, but Guintoli had other ideas.

He ended up signing Carlos Alcaraz on loan from Southampton and this made Allegri quite angry and he has been left further frustrated by the fact that no confirmation arrived about his own future. This bad relationship has led to Juventus being very close to signing Thiago Motta and only the final steps of the move are remaining.
