Cagliari had the first effort on goal after just two minutes, Zito Luvumbo cutting in from the right and firing just over the bar.

Juventus struggled to settle as the hosts stayed on top for much of the opening 15 minutes, Eldor Shomurodov being the next to try and break the deadlock.

The Old Lady’s first real attack saw Timothy Weah do very well to turn and shoot but his near-post effort was straight at Simone Scuffet.

Cagliari got a deserved lead on the half-hour and it came from the penalty spot after Juve defender Gleison Bremer handled the ball. From the resulting spot kick, Gianluca Gaetano sent Wojciech Szczęsny the wrong way with a very confident strike.

It was two shortly after and, again, it was from 12 yards out. Szczęsny rushed out after Luvumbo was sent clear, taking down the Angolan and being given a yellow card.

This time, Yerry Mina stepped up and put it the other side of the Polish keeper with another excellent penalty. It was the Colombian’s first strike for the club since joining from Everton in the summer.

Juve thought they had found a way back into the game just before the break but Federico Cheisa was just offside when he slid the ball across to Dusan Vlahović to tap home.

Manuel Allegri’s side stepped it up in the second half and halved the deficit in 62nd minute through the Serbian striker, whose near post free kick was somehow let through the wall to nestle in Scuffe’s net.

They continued to dominate the ball but struggled for chances as they searched for an equaliser. Cagliari remained resolute despite visibly tiring.

Vlahović remained the primary threat for the Old Lady with an audacious bicycle kick attempt flying over.

Juve got their equaliser with three minutes remaining. Cagliari tried to play out but Mina lost the ball, allowing to Kenan Yıldız to whip a dangerous ball in that the unfortunate Alberto Dossena turned into his own net.

The Isolani held on for a point that puts them five points above the drop zone with just five games left for Claudio Ranieri’s men.
