Southampton's 0-4 loss to Brighton has left boss Ivan Juric deeply disappointed. Devastated, he accepts his current system is not a good fit for the Saints.

It seems that Southampton has taken on the responsibility of distributing points to all Premier League clubs. Otherwise, how do they end up losing every time at home?

Firstly, Brentford, then Newcastle, Burnley, Bournemouth, and now a loss to Brighton, the Saints have lost all games at St. Mary's this year.

Now, losses aren't a new concern for Southampton, but their magnitudes under a boss like Juric raises eyebrows.

You might not know, but current Saints boss Ivan Juric holds a name in defensive masterclasses. Famous for his effective man-marking systems, he has proven quite effective in conceding fewer goals.

But hey, it's Southampton, where statuses and reputations change for the bad rapidly. Sadly, it feels like it's turn for Juric's past glory.

Know what? Post the recent battering by Brighton, the 49-year-old Croatian looked deeply affected. Naturally, it reflected in his words as he made a disappointingly honest admission after the loss.

As quoted by the Daily Echo, Juric said: "We are not good enough to defend this way. Last year, I had 19 clean sheets. We are not good enough to defend the way that I am used to defending."

Now, definitely, such words from the boss do demoralize the unit but it's the Saints' sloppy performances that forced him to this. After all, with comical errors, and questionable defending blunders, they have let Juric down all along.

Like it or not, Southampton's current backline seems lacking a lot. And without a doubt, improvisations are required.

In such a situation the club needs to make a harsh decision. Either, they let Juric prepare a new backline as per his needs, or continue with the existing one with a new boss altogether.

Now, there's no guarantee, about what Southampton would do. Let's see how they react ahead.
