Inter Milan still have AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala on their radar and could potentially sign him in the summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Argentine forward was close to joining the Nerazzurri last summer before the transfer fell through after the Italian club decided to sign Romelu Lukaku.

It proved to be a big mistake by Inter, with Dybala flourishing at Roma this season. On the other hand, Lukaku has endured a miserable loan spell at San Siro.

Dybala has hit the ground running at the capital club this season, not only becoming their talisman with his imperious form on the pitch but also winning the hearts of the Giallorossi fans.

However, the World Cup winner’s future at Stadio Olimpico continues to be a subject of speculation due to the clauses in his deal.

Italian clubs can sign Dybala for around €20 million, while the foreign clubs have a release clause worth €12m, which can be triggered in the summer.

Roma can terminate those clauses if they increase his current salary to €6m per season.

Dybala’s continuity hinges on the future of Jose Mourinho, who convinced the former Juventus star to move to the capital club last summer.

There have been rumours about his departure despite the Portuguese manager turning the Giallorossi into contenders for a Champions League spot.

Mourinho’s position could be in danger if Roma miss out on a place in the top four, particularly as he wants the backing of the club’s hierarchy in the transfer market.

Dybala and Mourinho have a close relationship, and their futures may well be interlinked.

Inter plan to add more reinforcements to the attack in the summer, as they could part ways with Lukaku and Joaquin Correa.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has learnt from the mistake of missing out on Dybala and is now planning to bid for him again this summer.

However, Inter could face tough competition from Europe’s top clubs because of his intriguing release clause.
