Massimiliano Farris feels that there’s “no room for disappointment” for Inter Milan in Serie A, and they must focus on the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri assistant coach gave his thoughts in a press conference after today’s 2-0 win over Como, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have not managed to successfully defend their Serie A title crown.
The Nerazzurri took it down to the last day of the season. They were just a point behind Napoli going into today’s matches.
And Inter did their bit. They got a convincing win away to Como to close out the league season.
However, the Nerazzurri were also relying on Cagliari to do them a favour against Napoli. And that did not happen.
So Inter will be left with the feeling of regret after the long season.
The Nerazzurri have certainly had their positive moments. Particularly when they looked to have taken control of the Serie A title race in the spring.
But then, back-to-back losses to Bologna and Roma proved to be a hammer blow to Inter’s title ambitions.
Furthermore, Inter have dropped too many points cheaply throughout the campaign. 2-2 draws against the likes of Genoa, Parma, and Lazio, and a failure to beat AC Milan were among the decisive results for the Nerazzurri.

Inter will have to lick their wounds and reflect on their failure in Serie A. However, they can’t dwell on it for too long.
Next week, Inter take on Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Champions League.
After today’s match, Inter assistant coach Massimiliano Farris commented that “we’ve already been through this one.”
“We all have in mind what it means for it to be a week before the Champions League final,” he continued.
“But we also have in mind the path that’s led us to this final.”
Farris insisted that “there’s no room for disappointment.”
“From tonight onwards, we’re going to live this dream. We have great technical and emotional leaders who will guide this team.”
Meanwhile, Farris explained that Lautaro Martinez did not come on as a substitute against Como because “we didn’t want to risk any players who were coming back from injury.”
“We planned the rotations, and then did them,” he went on.
“Lautaro was not expected to come on. Unless there were extraordinary circumstances.”
Farris made clear that “we want to safeguard the players in view of the final in Munich.”
Meanwhile, Massimo Farris noted that “Benjamin [Pavard] is coming off the back of a bad ankle sprain, but he’s getting better.”
Then, “Bisseck felt something in his knee, but it’s nothing serious, he wasn’t worried.”
