Girona to sign Manchester United outcast for less than €1m initial price, deal could rise to €10-15m | OneFootball

Girona are close to wrapping up two new signings. Having already tied up deals for Ladislav Krejci and Abel Ruiz, the Catalans intend to finalise the captures of teenage midfielder Gabriel Misehouy, as well as Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek.

The deal for van de Beek has come out of nowhere. The Dutch midfielder has previously been linked with Real Sociedad, but it’s now looking increasingly likely that he will be playing his football at Montilivi for next season and beyond. It is a permanent arrangement, which will not cost Girona too much initially.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Girona will pay less than €1m to sign van de Beek, although there will be numerous add-ons included in the deal with Man United. The expectation is that the overall cost will be €4-5m, although it could go as high as €10-15m. A significant sell-on clause will also be present.

Van de Beek will provide solid midfield depth for Girona, which has been much-needed in the aftermath of Aleix Garcia’s move to Bayer Leverkusen. The new Champions League side have certainly been busy, and they will surely continue to be so over the coming weeks.
