Girona confirm fourth summer signing as midfielder arrives from Manchester United | OneFootball

Girona have been incredibly active in the transfer market over the last few weeks, and signing number four of the summer has already been wrapped up. It was made official on Thursday, with Donny van de Beek arriving from Manchester United.

It was reported last weekend that Girona had reached an agreement with the Premier League giants, and after the successful completion of medical tests, van de Beek has now become the latest addition to Michel Sanchez’s squad, as they prepare for their first season as a Champions League club. He joins Ladislav Krejci, Abel Ruiz and Gabriel Misehouy in making the move to Montilivi.

Girona will pay a nominal fee to Man United initially, but the deal could rise as high as €10-15m, provided that certain conditions are met.

It’s been a difficult few years for van de Beek in Manchester, but he will hope to revitalise his career in Catalonia. He’ll have the opportunity to establish himself as a key player early on, with the departure of Aleix Garcia to Bayer Leverkusen creating an opening in Michel’s midfield.
