Real Madrid attacker Kylian Mbappe has been dropped for France’s Nations League fixtures against Italy and Israel this month.

The 25-year-old controversially asked to be left out of the October international games. However, head coach Didier Deschamps has confirmed he has axed his captain.

Deschamps said (via Fabrizio Romano): “I had discussions with Kylian and made my decision. It’s better this way. Mbappe wanted to come with us. It’s not because of any other problem.”
