“That’s what I’m doing now at Celtic”

He will be aiming to carry his strong club performances into the international arena but declined to reveal the reason behind his recent run of excellent form. “I don’t really know myself,” he said, speaking in the Daily Record.

“When I was scoring at Marinos, I was always scoring, and I think that’s what I’m doing now at Celtic. It’s the daily accumulation of what I’ve done up until now.”

“There is one reason, but I can’t tell you what it is yet. I’ll probably be able to tell you in a month or two,” the Celtic Star told Japanese media outlet Gekisaka.jp.

“I want to score goals and qualify for the World Cup”

Japan will face Bahrain and Saudi Arabia this month as they look to secure their spot in next year’s tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Maeda said: “Now that I’m with the national team, I want to score goals and qualify for the World Cup.”

The Celtic forward has earned 22 international caps, scoring four goals in the process.
