Chelsea open talks over Alejandro Garnacho transfer from Manchester United | OneFootball

Chelsea are eyeing a winter move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, as per reports.

The Blues handed Jadon Sancho an escape route from Old Trafford last summer. The Englishman found himself on the fringes of the first-team under now-former United boss Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea knocked on United’s doors and eventually found an agreement to sign the 24-year-old on an initial loan deal that contains an obligation to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Sancho hasn’t exactly set the Premier League alight but his performances at Stamford Bridge have been a lot more promising than what he was doing in Manchester.

Now, Chelsea have expressed their interest in signing another United winger, Garnacho, whose long-term future at the club is also uncertain.

According to L’Équipe, the London-based outfit have explored the possibility of signing the 20-year-old star from United.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has also confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the Argentina international, adding that Enzo Maresca’s side have made enquiries about the player in their bid to strengthen their wide attacking areas.

Garnacho supposedly fits the profile Chelsea are looking to add to their ranks. However, Ornstein has underlined that “conversations remain at an early stage.”

The United academy product has had a relatively good season, having scored eight goals and registered five assists across all competitions.

Still, he has received backlash for his work ethic and attitude, especially off-field. Ruben Amorim has also demanded more from the talented forward.

The situation has led to suggestions that INEOS are open to listening to offers for the much-hyped talent.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Napoli want to sign Garnacho and they have been informed to pay around £60m to tempt United into selling their prized asset.
