Celta Vigo boss Giráldez reveals hope of Real Sociedad’s return to the club | OneFootball

Celta Vigo head coach Claudio Giráldez has on Friday revealed his hope that Real Sociedad star Brais Méndez will at some point down the line secure a return to the club.

Brais, for his part, spent the early years of his career developing on the books of Celta Vigo.

All told, the gifted attacking midfielder spent a decade with the Celestes, before departing for the aforementioned Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022.

On Saturday, Brais will lock horns with his former employers for the latest occasion, as La Real prepare for a La Liga trip to Balaídos.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Celta boss Claudio Giráldez, in turn, was drawn on the talents of his side’s one-time midfield star.

And the Spanish tactician made use of the opportunity to lavish praise on Brais, before revealing his hope that a reunion between the parties will come to fruition at some point in the future:

“He’s a player that I like, he’s having some brilliant seasons, with a spectacular evolution in his game. He’s very complete, I think he masters many more things than people think. I hope one day he can return, I would love it.”
