The respected French organisation, France Football, announced who they feel to be the 10 greatest goalkeepers of all-time in 2020.
Responsible for running the annual Ballon d'Or awards ceremony, France Football know a thing or two when it comes to recognising greatness in the beautiful game.
So, when they decided to release their list of the 10 best goalkeepers to ever do it a couple of years ago, the football world stood up to take notice.
Among their selections were several fan favourties that have been adored by the masses across the decades.
Gianluigi Buffon, whose career has stood the test of time like few before him, received strong recognition by achieving fourth place.
The Italian pipped his modern day rival Manuel Neuer by a whisker, who came in at fifth. Whilst Iker Casillas, Real Madrid and Spain legend, could manage just eighth in France Football's ranking.

10. Peter Shilton
Shilton played an extraordinary 1,390 professional games from 1966 to 1997, which is a record for most competitive appearances by an individual.
9. Edwin van der Sar
A Manchester United legend who failed to rank as highly on this list as the man he picked up the mantle from all those years ago, Van der Sar is a worthy member of the top 10. Much like Buffon, his longevity is famous, with the Dutchman having won the European Goalkeeper of the Year award in 1995 and 2009.
Casillas won an incredible five La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues across his tenure with Madrid. He also won two European Championships and a World Cup with Spain.
7. Sepp Maier
German-born Maier spent his entire career with Bayern Munich and made a total of 536 appearances for the Bavarians.
Besides winning the World Cup with his country, he was also part of the Bayern side that won three consecutive European Cups in the 1970s.
6. Peter Schmeichel
Many experts believe Schmeichel to be the best goalkeeper of the Premier League era after his heroics between the sticks for Manchester United. He famously captained the club to treble glory in 1999.
4. Gianluigi Buffon
Buffon's career began in 1995, and it's still going strong way into 2023. Right from the start he was an elite stopper and, as a result, he's been called up to five different World Cups with Italy, winning the competition in 2006.
3. Dino Zoff
But in the eyes of France Football, he still isn't Italy's greatest keeper of all-time.
That prize goes to Zoff, who captained the Azzuri to success at the age of 40 years, 4 months and 13 days.
He clocked 112 appearances for his country and won six Serie A titles with Juventus.
2. Gordon Banks
FIFA named Banks their Goalkeeper of the Year six years in a row between 1966 and 1971.
He’s responsible for perhaps the greatest save of all-time, denying Brazilian Pele with a stunning dive at the 1970 World Cup.
1. Lev Yashin
The only goalkeeper to ever win the Ballon d'Or, Yashin seems an astute pick on France Football's behalf.
