Gianluigi Donnarumma has been told to leave Paris Saint-Germain, and there should be more clarity over the next week, but Manchester City, Chelsea and now Bayern Munich are all in the running.

The imminent arrival of Lucas Chevalier from LOSC means PSG have made their decision, having failed to agree a new contract beyond June 2026, and now begins the battle of wills with Gigio Donnarumma.

Back on July 27 we had already revealed the strong interest from Manchester City, as he is a long-term target for Pep Guardiola, despite the fact the Premier League club has already got options in that role.

But Donnarumma is Donnarumma, so Manchester City will want to give it a go anyway over the next few days.

Donnarumma future up in the air

The asking price could be around €25-30m, otherwise it’ll be a rush to the finish line for next summer as a free agent, where Guardiola would be in the front row.

Over the last few days, Bayern Munich made an approach, which we had already talked about in January on Sportitalia.

Chelsea are interested, but so far have not made any formal steps to pursue the Italy international.

Over the next week, things should become clear, as a lot depends on what PSG want, because keeping a top goalkeeper after signing Chevalier might be a risky move.

Could Italian clubs get involved if he was to become a free agent? Nothing can be ruled out, but even then, it’d be a costly operation for his salary.
