A busy day of Nicolas Jackson rumours have reached a head late this evening.

After talk of a potential loan deal to Bayern Munich gathered steam over the last 24 hours it looked like the end of this week could see a deal done. Instead, it’s all happened much faster.

After a day dominated by Ben Jacobs and Fabrizio Romano in terms of breaking the stories, it was Bundesliga man Florian Plettenberg who got the scoop on this one, going one further than the others in terms of his certainty on the deal.

He said Bayern “will cover the full salary” of Jackson, as well as presumably paying a hefty loan fee. Chelsea were said to be asking for as much as €10m in some of the reporting earlier.

The other question will be whether the purchase of Jackson is obligatory or options, and what terms that would involved. Plettenberg says “some details still need to be clarified” but is clearly confident it’s happening.

Chelsea’s strong position means Jackson deal probably favourable

Given Chelsea have all the power when it comes to Jackson, we can be pretty confident that we’re getting a good deal. Bayern want an attacker and clearly think he’s their man. Chelsea have so long left on his contract and enough striker cover that they can loan him out to improve his value, and don’t necessarily have to worry about making it an obligatory transfer.

He could score 30 for the German giants and boost his value once again. He’s happy to go, Bayern are happy to pay his wages and pay us for him. What’s not to like?

Meanwhile his wages are off the books, and we can bring in someone like Xavi Simons or Alejandro Garnacho for the attack. That seems to be the plan.
