Santiago Castro could use tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Bologna to bolster his market stock.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Castro’s form has recently dwindled amid talks the Nerazzurri are eager to acquire his services.
Widely regarded as one of Serie A’s brightest prospects, the 20-year-old has become a star at Renato Dall’Ara this season.
Indeed, Joshua Zirkzee’s switch to Manchester United has launched the Argentine’s career in Emilia-Romagna.
Castro has undoubtedly evolved to become one of Bologna’s most valuable assets under Vincenzo Italiano.
With four goals and four assists, he’s the Rossoblu’s standout performer in Serie A this season.
Castro’s form has recently been on a downward trajectory.
Indeed, he spurned a penalty against Torino and netted an unfortunate own goal against Hellas Verona in December.
As a result, Italiano left him on the bench in a 2-2 home draw against Roma last weekend.
However, the ex-Velez Sarsfield forward could return to the starting line-up tomorrow when Bologna take on injury-hit Inter.
Simone Inzaghi would, therefore, have a chance to witness Castro’s potential first-hand.
Inter have already earmarked Castro as a potential target after deciding against renewing Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic’s contracts.
