Bayern Munich are nearing a deal to send Daniel Peretz to Serie A side Genoa, with negotiations between the Bundesliga club and their Italian counterparts advancing rapidly, according to FCBInside and Bavarian Football Works citing transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

The 24-year-old Israeli international goalkeeper looks poised to leave Munich just a year after his arrival, having found playing time hard to come by in a crowded Bayern goalkeeping department. Genoa have reportedly submitted an official bid for a loan with an option to buy. The agreement is described as close, bringing Peretz a much-awaited chance for regular starts at the top level after only featuring five times in competitive matches this past campaign, primarily in the DFB-Pokal or less consequential fixtures.

Peretz, who is under contract with Bayern until 2028 and valued at approximately three million euros by Transfermarkt, ranked fourth in the depth chart last season. Club captain Manuel Neuer remains first choice at 39, and summer arrival Jonas Urbig has been earmarked as both backup and, eventually, successor to Neuer. Sven Ulreich’s future with the club is less certain, though he’s reportedly set for a new contract, but will be occasionally unavailable due to private reasons.

Genoa have made Peretz their priority target for the goalkeeper position this summer, viewing him as a solution for seasons ahead. With his route to the Bayern first team firmly blocked and new head coach Vincent Kompany not counting on him for the upcoming season, the move aligns with both clubs’ plans. Genoa are pressing for a swift conclusion, eager to secure their new number one ahead of pre-season.

Bayern, for their part, are already planning for life without Peretz. The club is searching for a replacement, with 31-year-old Hendrik Bonmann from Ludogorets Razgrad emerging as a candidate to act as the new third-choice keeper behind Neuer and Urbig. Bonmann, who has spent time at 1860 Munich and Borussia Dortmund, is seen as a senior and reliable option to round out the squad.

The imminent departure of Peretz is the latest move in a reshuffling of Bayern’s goalkeeping setup under Kompany and sporting director Max Eberl. Peretz’s transfer comes shortly after a previous deal with PSV Eindhoven collapsed, increasing the urgency for both player and club to find a resolution. Genoa’s willingness to include a purchase option in the loan deal increases the likelihood that this will be more than just a temporary switch.
