It was the final video message of Thomas Müller (as a footballer) at the training ground of Bayern Munich - he says ‘goodbye’ after over 25 years at the club.
Müller published one last video on his personal instagram account, where he says goodbye - to his club, his training ground, his fans and his time at the club he loves so dearly.
“Hi guys - a last goodbye to my training ground; a last goodbye to my dressing room. It was a pleasure. It was an honour to serve Bayern Munich. Now it's time for a new chapter of my life.”
“I'm happy [about] what I was able to experience; I'm happy [about] how many great people I met in this football bubble. It's time to say goodbye - I wish you all the best!”
756 games for Bayern Munich. 250 goals for Bayern Munich. 276 assists for Bayern Munich.
The almost-title winning goal against Chelsea in the final “Dahoam”. 33 titles with Bayern Munich. Barely any Bayern record he didn't break. Goodbye, “Raumdeuter” Thomas Müller.
Jupp Heynckes: “Thomas Müller is not the best in the world - but he's the best at doing what he does.”
Louis van Gaal: “Thomas Müller has to play - always.”
Pep Guardiola: “Thomas Müller has a special way of watching and reading the game. Nowadays, when the players score a goal, they run to the fans and show them how good they are. They jump around in front of them. Thomas Müller hugs his teammates. I love that.”
Julian Nagelsmann: “I am grateful that I was able to accompany Thomas Müller for parts of his career, with the national team and at FC Bayern. It was a pleasure to work with him. Thomas is a passionate professional who is still as passionate about football as he was on his first day. He has enriched our European Championship team not only with his sporting qualities, but also as a leader, a role model and a figure of identification.”
Rudi Völler: “No one is like Thomas Müller. His value to German football cannot be overestimated. Regardless of whether he's been with FC Bayern or the national team all these years - with Thomas, every team has always had a face, an exemplary character, as well as a top striker. His game is unorthodox, intuitive, unpredictable and successful for precisely that reason.”
