An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been the subject of recent contact on the part of a pair of European football’s leading clubs.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Guille Fernández as the player in question.
Guille’s name will likely be a familiar one to close followers of Spanish champions Barcelona.
This comes with the 17-year-old having long been making a name for himself as a potential star in the making in Catalunya’s capital.
Guille was called up for pre-season training by Hansi Flick upon his arrival at Barca last summer, with the same privilege having been afforded to the starlet this time round, too.
He was afforded minutes off the bench en route to the Blaugrana’s friendly drubbing of FC Seoul earlier this week.
And such rapid progression on Guille’s part, as alluded to above, has evidently not gone unnoticed across the continent.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Sport that:
‘His agent, Jorge Mendes, has long received concrete proposals, both for a possible transfer and for a loan that would guarantee the player quality playing time. Borussia Dortmund and Porto are some of the teams that have expressed interest in his situation.’
The plan is now for Mendes, Guille and Barcelona to sit down on the back of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, to discuss all options in front of the player.
Though Deco and co. are not actively seeking a sale, should Guille not be provided with the kind of guarantees which he is seeking when it comes to playing time, a transfer cannot be ruled out.
