Aston Villa will not consider Emiliano Martinez’s exit in the final hours of the summer transfer window unless they receive a colossal offer.

The Argentine custodian’s future at Villa Park now remains unclear after his proposed move to Manchester United broke down.

The Red Devils had Martinez on their agenda but have reportedly reached an agreement with Royal Antwerp for Senne Lammens instead.

The situation has put the 32-year-old’s career in limbo, with the player previously eager to part ways with the Villans this summer.

However, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the Birmingham club have no desire to let Martinez leave for a reduced fee. The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner is under contract with Villa until 2029 and is apparently a priority for Galatasaray this summer.

Galatasaray return with improved offer for Martinez

Following the collapse of Martinez’s move to Old Trafford, Galatasaray have stepped up their pursuit of the player. Journalist Yakup Cinar has stated that the Lions have now offered €25m for the Argentine.

Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that the Turkish club have set their sights on Andre Onana as well.

The Cameroonian custodian’s situation at United remains tense with Lammens all set to arrive at Old Trafford.

However, the 29-year-old apparently wants to stay and fight for his place in the team. Galatasaray remain eager to rope in a new goalkeeper and have now turned to Martinez.

Villa have signed Marco Bizot this summer

With Martinez’s future subject to speculation since the end of last season, Villa secured the services of Marco Bizot from Brest in July this year. The 34-year-old was in goal for the 0-3 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Argentine, interestingly, wasn’t part of the squad for the Premier League game.

The Birmingham club are yet to pick up a win this season, and Martinez’s situation has proven to be an unnecessary distraction.

However, with hours remaining in the summer’s transfer window, Villa are not too keen to sanction his exit under normal circumstances. Only an astronomical offer could tempt them to alter their stance.
