Mikel Arteta feels that Arsenal will “have to react” against Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday after their loss to Newcastle United.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, via FCInterNews, the Gunners coach admitted that today’s loss was “deserved” and stressed the importance of trying to bounce back at the San Siro.

Arsenal have had a tough run of form since they returned from the October international break.

Losses against the likes of Bournemouth and Newcastle United have bookended a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the league.

This has left Arsenal with some catching up to do in the Premier League.

But the Gunners won’t have much time to dwell on these disappointing results.

In just a few days, Arsenal will have to switch their focus from their domestic commitments to Europe.

And it will be a very tough match in which to try and bounce back from today’s defeat.

Arsenal travel to Milan to face Inter on Wednesday evening. This is certainly one of the marquee matchups for this round of fixtures in the Champions League.

Arteta Admits Arsenal “Have To React” Vs Inter After Newcastle Defeat

Neither Arsenal nor Inter have been at their absolute best in recent weeks.

However, both teams remain hugely formidable regardless of recent form. They are both among the favourites to make a deep run in or even win the Champions League this season.

After today’s loss, Arteta admitted that “We deserved to lose.”

“We got dragged into the kind of game they wanted to play, and we couldn’t play the way we wanted,” he said of facing Newcastle.

As far as how to respond to this loss, the Arsenal coach said that “We can say what we want. But we’d struggle to find the words today.”

“The reaction has to come on the pitch on Wednesday evening,” Arteta said, looking forward to his team’s Champions League showdown with Inter.

“We need to give our best to have a chance to win,” he said.
