Manchester City know that should they win all of their remaining matches, then they will be crowned Premier League champions for a fourth successive season, regardless of the outcome of contests played out by Arsenal and Liverpool.

However, away from the on-field action and Manchester City and Arsenal appear on track for a transfer battle in the summer, one year on from their highly-publicised pursuit of now-former West Ham United star Declan Rice.

It was Arsenal who ultimately came out on top then, with the England international recruited by Emirates Stadium bosses in a deal understood to be a worth up to a total of £105 million, with the £5 million coming in potential add-ons.

Now, according to the information of The Telegraph’s Sam Dean, it is claimed that both Arsenal and Manchester City are considering a summer move for Newcastle United and Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

It is further detailed that the 26-year-old is ‘aware’ of Arsenal and Manchester City’s admiration in his talents, while the report also points towards the player’s release clause of around £100 million in his contract.

Manchester City are also known to be retaining interest in West Ham midfield er Lucas Paqueta, and are understood to not be opposed to the idea of recruiting more than once in the attacking midfield positions.

That approach comes as uncertainty surrounding the future of Bernardo Silva continues to develop, with the Portugal international having eyed an exit from the Etihad Stadium for the last number of seasons.

Barcelona are understood to be his preferred destination, while the former AS Monaco man has also made his intentions to end his career at Benfica – the club at which he began his football journey – very clear in previous public interviews.
