West Ham have snapped up Guido Rodríguez on a free transfer after his Real Betis contract expired.
The 30-year-old Argentine international was heavily linked with Barcelona last season, but will instead head to the London Stadium, where he has signed an X-year contract.
A defensive midfielder, Rodríguez began his career at River Plate before playing for Mexican outfits Tijuana and Club América.
He joined Betis from the latter in 2020, and went on to make 173 appearances for the club over four seasons, scoring nine goals.
At international level he has been capped 30 times by Argentina, and was part of the squad which won the 2022 World Cup, as well as the Copa América in 2021 and 2024.
