El Hadji Malick Diouf officially joined West Ham United on July 15, 2025. The Senegalese defender expressed his excitement at beginning this new chapter in his career and experiencing the English Premier League for the first time.
Just an hour ago, West Ham United confirmed the arrival of El Hadji Malick Diouf, signed from Slavia Prague for €25 million. The Senegalese player has committed to the Irons on a multi-year deal and will wear the number 12 shirt, according to the English club’s official statement. For the first time, the 20-year-old defender arrives in England—specifically, in the Premier League. That makes him even more thrilled.
"A lot of teams wanted to sign me, but I chose West Ham United first and spoke with coach Graham Potter, and it was the right plan for me. Everyone wants to come here to play in the Premier League. I think it’s a dream for everyone. Once you’re here, you want to do everything well," El Hadji Malick Diouf revealed.
After putting pen to paper, the Senegalese defender is expected to travel to Germany to join the Hammers’ pre-season training camp led by coach Graham Potter. The Ziguinchor native, who can play as a left-back or left wing-back, is already showing his determination.
"I’m very happy to be here and to continue developing my career. I can’t wait to work hard and meet my new teammates. I’d like to tell the West Ham fans that I’m very happy to be here with them. I think we’ll have a very good season this year," concluded El Hadji Malick Diouf.
