‘Went all the way’ – Spain star Cucurella responds to Gary Neville’s jibe | OneFootball

Spain and Chelsea star Marc Cucurella has turned heads across the world of football in the early hours of Monday.

As much comes owing to the defender’s latest activity on social media.

Cucurella, for his part, is fresh off a night which will live long in the memory on Sunday.

After being afforded a starting berth in Spain’s Euro 2024 finale showdown with England, the 25-year-old went on to play a pivotal role in La Roja’s eventual victory.

En route to a late 2-1 triumph, Cucurella was responsible for laying on the game’s winner, courtesy of a pinpoint assist for Mikel Oyarzabal.

The Chelsea man of course proved one of the surprises of the entire Euros campaign, looking a man reborn from his berth at left-back.

Safe to say that as much was not at all expected on the part of one Englishman, namely Gary Neville, who, earlier in the tournament, highlighted Cucurella as a major point of weakness in the Spanish backline:

“I think he is one of the reasons I think Spain probably can’t go all the way.”

The former Brighton man, in turn, could hardly be blamed for sending a response the way of Neville, early this morning…

In a post on his official Instagram account, Cucurella highlighted the one-time Manchester United defender’s quote, accompanied by the caption:

“We went all the way, Gary. Thanks for your support.”
