On-loan Barcelona star Vitor Roque on Thursday added to his tally for the campaign by way of a brace with Real Betis.
Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis marked their return to action late last night, in a Copa del Rey meeting with minnows Gévora.
When all was said and done, the Verdiblancos emerged on the right side of a dominant 6-1 result, to book their spot in the 2nd round of the cup.
Frontman Roque, meanwhile, was forced to make do with a spot on the bench, before being introduced to the fray late on in Almendralejo.
And the 19-year-old went on to make his mark, notching Betis’ 5th and 6th of the evening.
Footage of the two goals, both of which saw Roque take up excellent positions in the centre-forward role, can be seen below:
No doubt keeping a close eye on as much on Thursday were those in a position of power at La Liga table-toppers Barcelona, with Roque still technically on the books of the Blaugrana, albeit with Real Betis boasting an option to make his signing permanent once the youngster’s loan terms have expired.
