Ez Abde joined Real Betis from Barcelona in the summer of 2023, and despite a difficult first season in Andalusia, things are now looking up for the 22-year-old winger. He’s already close to matching the goalscoring tally that he produced during the 2023-24 campaign, and in the eyes of head coach Manuel Pellegrini, he is now an important player.
To recognise this, Betis have agreed a new contract with Abde, one that keeps him tied down at Los Verdiblancos until 2029 – the club made his official on Wednesday.
As well as extending his stay, Abde has also received a salary increase to reflect the increase in prominence that has been displayed over the last few months.
Betis will hope that Abde continues to improve over the remainder of the current season, although if that does happen, they will have to be wary of Barcelona attempting to re-sign the Moroccan international – next summer, they can take him back to Catalonia for €25m.
