Noni Madueke is a really interesting character, and part of that is definitely his decision to move abroad to play football in Holland as a young player rather than going through the usual UK academy systems.

It’s worked out well for him – he got the move back to Chelsea and after a good spell is now getting called up for England. It was in one of those Three Lions pressers this week where he was asked what he had wanted to get out of that move abroad:

“The main thing for me was just focus… execution,” Noni replied.

It’s a really interesting question, and a really interesting thing that Noni did in his career – we wished he had given a little more in his answer to be honest. Still, if he continues on his upwards trajectory, there will be plenty more pressers like this to talk about it in.
